In ray school I have got PE Lessons two times a week. The Lessons are great and besides we have got a very nice teacher.

At the beginning of the Lesson we run around the school yard and then we do some exercises to keep our bodies fit and healthy. Then ray favorite part of the Lesson starts — we divide into two teams and play football. It is a great fun.

I like all the sport facilities in our school. And the only thing I would like to change is to make more PE Lessons during the week.

I’ve been working in a school newspaper for two years. The problem that worries me now is that children don’t care about their health and don’t go in for sports. Recently I have asked all my classmates about their sport hobbies and found out that the situation is no so bad. Our teachers proved that sport is very important in our lives and lots of pupils now attend sport sections.

My best friend Masha likes volleyball very much so she attends a volleyball club after the Lessons three times a week. Volleyball club is also attended by some other students of our class.

The second most popular sport club in our school is a football club. Almost all the boys attend it and enjoy playing football every day after the Lessons. Basketball club is also very popular among the boys. The thing that

is very pleasant is that some pupils attend two or more sport sections.

Girls prefer figure skating and swimming. They say that it makes their figures beautiful.

As for me I prefer tennis because I like to play in pair more than in a team.

Dear Alex,

I am writing in a reply to your request about sports which are popular among the teenagers in Ukraine. I have done a class survey recently and I think I’d let you know about my friends’ favorite activities. Everybody says that volleyball is very exciting. I think so, too. Some girls from our class attend volleyball section.

We have school competitions during the year. Many of my classmates take part in it. We divide into many teams and have couple tournaments. The other great thing about going in for sports is that you can find many new friends there and share your interest with them.

It’s best to join the football section and have training twice or three times a week.

So why no give it a try? It’s lots of fun!

I like to play volleyball that’s why I attend school volleyball section twice a week after the Lessons. For playing volleyball I need to have some equipment such as a pair of good trainers, sports clothes and of course a ball. Also we need to have a net, but usually our trainer gives it to us before the game starts.

Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher has won 3 World Championship, drives at 300 kilometers an hour, drives his rivals mad, and is arguably the best Formula One driver ever.

When he was four, his father made him a go-cart and added an engine to it. Sadly, he drove it straight into a lamp post.

When Schumacher was 11 he had a go-cart race and a judo match on the same day. He decided to enter the judo competition and only came third. After that he decided to concentrate on racing.

After school Schumacher trained as a mechanic. Willy Bergmeister introduced him to racing single-seated carts. Schumacher won 9 out of 10 rounds. By 1989, Schumacher was racing Formula Three cars.

Schumacher’s aggressive driving tactic is very skillful. It has won him both admirers and enemies.

My friends were going to hold a sport competition at the end of the school year. We needed to discuss what kinds of sport would be introduced there. My idea was the following: to represent traditional Ukrainian and English kinds of sports.

I think that football is the first among them. Football has been called the most popular game in the world. That’s why we decided to choose it and to prepare the team. You know that the team is composed of a goalkeeper, two backs, three half-backs and five forwards. My friends played football well and they were ready for the match. One of the boys proposed to invite boys from other school. But there were two football teams: for boys and for girls. So, we invited both of them — boys to play and girls to support them. The match was great. The friendship won.
